It's strange... while I love photography and I am constantly reading forum after forum, I hardly ever shoot any photos.

Part of that is a fear of sucking at it (product is what I am most happy with) and as a result, I photograph people maybe once or twice a year and mostly for free.

Not a good business model, I know. :roflBased on my estimates, my earnings are in the low three digits over the past couple of years LOL.

Anyway, here a few photos that I took about 6 months ago, the last time I pointed my camera at a human. (my wife, Anna)

I really like #1, #3 and #5 - the first two I mentioned she looks comfortable and #3 is great composition as the edge of the stairs lead your eyes down to her.. Although I think it would be better with a slightly tighter crop on the right.

#5 I like the idea but her arms are placed weird and an over all tighter crop will bring the focus to her. Looks like you were working with since nice light too.

Your lighting and processing are really nice.

for me #1 is dying for a tighter crop to get rid of the legs. The brightness takes away from the beautiful face.

2 & 3 for me are super, you could have helped slim her face a bit more with a more directional lighting but if your happy with it that is all that matters.

I like 4 but a photo judge would scold you for letting the nose line cute into the far eye. It tends to make that far line of the face broken and missing a piece. Picky yes but that would bite you in a competition.

#5 the semi closed eyes kill it.

#6 is lovely but add some hair to that void.

7 & 8 not so much for me.

Again your posing, lighting and processing are very nice for my taste. Congrats.

Let's do the big one first: IN NO WAY DO YOU SUCK!!!!!

She's a very pretty woman and you've done a nice job with the red hair/pale skin combination.

#1: Nice image but too much headroom and I'd like to see her legs off to the side a bit so she looks taller.

#2: Beautiful but I'd crop a lot of the right side out and focus on her.

#3: Another beauty but maybe a bit more directional light?? Just appears a bit flat to me but YMMV.

    #4: Love it. Period.

#5: Like everything but the hooded eyes.

    #6: Love it.

#7: Like it a lot but personally would crop tighter on her.

#8: I like blowing hair but the strand by itself should probably go away. Maybe clone the stone railing?

Of course, these are all my opinions and, considering how often I get beaten up here, you might want a whole shaker of grains of salt.rolleyes1.gif
