Here are a couple from the last regular season game:

Do you think the noise reduction levels are correct? More, or less, or about right?

Jason - I think noise levels are fine. White balance is a bit on the cool side though. I'm not a big fan of all the dead space in these though - both could benefit with tighter framing. And, shot 1 is a bit too early in the action - it would be more compelling closer to the strike.

I agree about the white balance, but I think the timing in 1 is great. The player's pose is beautiful - back arched, legs curled, she looks like she's flying. I'll bet she will be very excited to see this. Sure it would be nice to see what the next shot in the sequence looks like, but if it doesn't exist I think this is super. I think it could be cropped a little tighter, but not a whole lot. Of course you can't crop out the ball, so any cropping will put her lower in the frame and will cut off some of the opponent's legs.

    NR looks fine to me.

Here is the next one in the series from 1) above with a bit more warmth in the WB.

I still like #1 better, the pose is more graceful. #3 looks like she's spiking it into the net, even if she didn't.

If you don't mind, I tried a slight crop:

Actually, it reminds me of this!

I agree. The body pose, the facial expression, etc of #1 I think I prefer. She just needs wings. :D

Great shot. I NEVER can get these at college because you never see a player go up like this without a set of blockers right in front of them! Noise level is about right also. A set of strobes in that gym would be amazing...
