... in Boston Ballet's Nutcracker 15 December, evening. This all takes place within about 2 or 3 minutes and I didn't capture nearly every one of these spread eagle leaps (there where those in the audience who wanted to kill me as it was.) How about that for strength and grace?

Applause is very sweet, thank you, Kdog, Ian, Art.

Ian, unless the local company in question is SF Ballet, I had much better subjects to work with. Really the dancers are doing the hard work, followed by the company itself. Also, this is my third time, and practice and prep really help a lot. Lastly, it's almost certain that I'm spending more post time per shot than the newspaper.

Terrific, Rutt! Love the blur + sharp, powerful composition.

5D, 85nn f/1.2. ISO 1600. Used aperature priority mode, to keep the lens fairly open but stopped it down a bit when the light was brighter, as here, to get better DOF.

All the exif data is here: http://rutt.smugmug.com/gallery/1045127

But I think the post technique was the most important element. See: http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=23208

Wow - I've got to tell you that these are some great shots. I looked at the thread about doing the post work and suddenly they became even more impressive. Great work all around. thumb.gifclap.gif
