How About emailing Us When Bugs Are Fixed?

Like many others, I have a slideshow problem but didn't realize it until today. I thought Slideshows have been around since photos have been appearing on the internet so was quite surprised and disappointed to learn the feature doesn't work. So the only option is relying on the threads, some several pages long to see if the problem has been resolved. Frustrating and often a waste of time especially when there isn't a fix.
Is there a way Smugmug support can email us when they fix a major bug or several? Maybe offer a unique sign up subscription but leaving us to fetch for ourselves is not a very good procedure. A weekly update will be okay or whatever is reasonably workable.

When I have an issue like the slideshow problem:
In addition to pouring over the dgrin bug threads, I will now add searching your marketing blog and track social media sites for update information. Can you think of anything else I can spend time searching for fixes to your sw bugs?
Why not just shoot the help desk an email?
