I have say a set of family pictures and I want 4 galleries. In the long run should I have 1 hidden gallery for all pictures and have 4 smart galleries that pull from the hidden gallery or maintain 4 galleries wo the hidden gallery. Thoughts on plus minus of each,

I am doing the former. One advantage: if you decide to delete one of the smart galleries for whatever reason, you don't have to worry that you
ve deleted your original from the site. One drawback: if you hide an image in the smart gallery, it gets hidden in the source gallery as well - you can't have it visible in one gallerey and hidden in another, unless you creat unique keywords (or keyword combinations) for each derivative gallery. Another drawback is that you can't have unique captions: if you modify the derivative gallery, you also modify the source.
