Saving Smart Gallery

I get this message when working with Smart Gallery.

Populate with keyword
click refresh, photos show
click save
click "return to gallery"
nothing happens
get message

Edit: sometimes when it does return to the gallery I get a blank page.

Did the gallery have photos in it before you turned on the Smart Gallery? I found a nicely reproducible case where adding smart gallery rules to an empty gallery that would match 17,000 photos would take 2 minutes to save. During saving, the gallery would not load, or would load a blank page. This seems like reasonable performance to me for such a large match.

However, if I uploaded a couple of photos to the gallery before turning on Smart Gallery, that two minute loading time became four hours.
