Not really a landscape, but I was struck by the juxtaposition of this
old barrel-tiled roof with a modern building in the background.

Critique and comments always encouraged.

Too bad the glass wall in the upper right is so bright.....it is distracting.

    Maybe burn it some.......

I think it is a nice abstract composition of tones and textures. I like the geometry of the diagonals and rectangles of the major blocks. I agree with your statement about the juxtaposition. The cross makes a nice focal point and keeps the image from being too bland. If I were to experiment with the composition, I'd try eliminating (cropping away) the pink stucco at the bottom, then cropping the whole image to maintain the balance of the components. Maybe this experiment would make a cleaner, more powerful arrangement of the remaining polygons. On my monitor the light polygon at upper right is ok, not too bright; however, if removal of the stucco leaves this this polygon as too brightly dominant, you might increase the structure in this polygon (e.g., bringing out the cloud reflections to make this section richer). Whatever feels right to you.

Nice juxtaposition indeed. John and Willard pointed out some possible ideas to play around with, but it's pretty darn cool the way it is. thumb.gif

I like this image, Tony, but there is a preponderance of blue tone to my eye.

I think some warmth, either in late afternoon sunlight, or just in editing of the orange color of the tiles, will allow the orange/blue complimentary colors to really make this image pop.
