Some time ago I started a gallery of photos of people
at work. Here's a man who repairs watches at a Flea
Market.

I like your series and the concept. On this one, however, I would have liked to see more of the work table and eliminate the negative space to the left of the frame. And the perennial question: BW? But of course, that's personal preference.

Good questions, but there are answers.

More of the work table was not shown because of the conditions.
This was taken at a flea market and there were several people
blocking the view. A wider view would show the backs of people.
Also, the rest of the table was mostly a display of cheap new
watches his stall partner was selling. My subject just had a
    corner of the table.

I crop to a 2:3 ratio for all images. Just a habit, and that
sometimes adds negative space in order to contain all that
    I want in other areas.

The color vs b&w issue is one I always consider with this
type of shot, but the color shot seemed to show the
subject better. The red shirt becomes a dominant dark
mass in b&W. Skin vs red shows better.

Thanks for explaining. I like the detail on the hands and shallow DOF.
