Good shot, Ian. Well-controlled lighting. Use of the darker background was a good choice.
I've got a few knives but I'm no big-time collector. I will meet with Daniel Winkler the next time I'm up in Blowing Rock, NC, and I might pick up another one from him. He made all the custom knives used in the movie " The Last of The Mohicans ".
Take care,
Tom
I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Thank you!
I just realized there is some oil still on the blade. I will need to clean that off and repeat. Very simple setup. Single speedlight with a Stofen at 1/16 power and about 8" above the subject. Manual exposure (dark frame).
I looked at some of Mr. Winkler's work. Those are some gorgeous pieces! I can see how they would be chosen as props for that movie-which I enjoyed BTW.
Chris Price of The Tidewater Forge also makes some very nice knives.

It's still there. Perhaps your firewall is blocking?
Thanks Chris!
I tried a different knife...
