After our Canyonlands visit, our Adventure Team, (Grandma, Grandpa, & Granddaughter) on our second day paid a visit to a sparsely visited place near Moab, UT.
Fisher Towers. Never heard of it? Neither did I. You've certainly seen it before though. Backdrop used in commercials and movies. It was quite a place, Very Majestic sitting all alone in the middle of nowhere, just east of the Colorado River.

All shot were taken at mid day.

It was recently used in a Citi bank commercial. Those are nice photos! I have some photos from the other side that are not nearly as nice as yours.

Yea, that is the commercial that came to my mind when I first saw the Corkscrew.
It was really cool to watch these folks summiting, and really didn't take all that long for them to reach the top. I seems that is the most popular climb there even though there are much taller structures.
    Thx Doc

    Nice!

I remember that place. It was one of the stops on the Smugmug/Dgrin Shootout in 2008.

Looks like quite the adventure. One hell of a group to travel together. I'll bet it was fun.

Great series of images in your gallery link in the first post. You had some great skies for your shots, as well.

I was there in early November also, and this time drove Pucker Pass and Shafer Trail, as well as around behind Fisher Towers. Almost too many stream crossing to count, behind the Towers.

Post some more of your shots, you have some nice ones.

Thanks Pathfinder, I am still working thru my shots and post to my gallery as I finish each park. Between work and grandchild rearing, it leaves little time for processing. We visited 4 parks on our Fall Adventure, Canyonlands, Dead Horse, Fisher Towers, and Goblin Valley. The skies were great the first day, then the clouds cleared away to crystal clear skies the rest of the trip. Some wonderful places to visit and will have to visit again.

Great stuff, Shawn. Love the climbing shots and the scale they add. #3 is my favorite of the climbing shots. #5 gets the nod for best landscape composition and light. But that last climbing shot is pretty sweet too. deal.gif

Oh, and I too was on the Dgrin Moab shootout where we did sunset here. I really miss those shootouts. :cry

Very nice photos. Fisher Towers is a great place. There are a couple of roads back that way that light up with fall color too.

    I enjoyed my time there.

Thanks Joel. Sounds like there needs to be another shootout planned.

Thanks Ian, Would have loved to have gotten onto some back roads out there, unfortunately, we were in a vehicle that was less than adequate for most of the backroads around Moab.
