1D Shutter to 1D2?

My workhorse 1D2 blew its shutter a few weeks ago. It was the second one and had almost 400K clicks on it! Anyway CPS no longer has parts for or supports the 1D2. I have a 1D that's been collecting dust for several years. Is its shutter compatible with the newer body? Pretty sure Canon would not do the swap if it is. Who might be able to?

Cheers

While much between the Canon 1D and 1D Mark II are the same specifications, I doubt that the shutter mechanism (shutter box assembly) of those two are directly interchangeable. Since both of the bodies would have to be disassembled, I also doubt that the repairs would be less than simply purchasing another 1D Mark II body with a working shutter.

KEH currently has a Canon 1D Mark II in "EX" condition for $399USD (inclusive of battery and charger too):
