Not taken much of late, been busy and there is a lack of insects in late December in England!


Still alive though, is one of the spiders in my outhouse. This was at an awkward angle to get to, right up against the back corner, behind all kinds of typically stored stuff in the outhouse (trolleys, old cement bags and sand, plant pots and garden tools...) You can see the lacy/funnel structure of the spider's web - Tegenaria gigantica are more hunters than catchers (they wait for prey to enter the funnel rather than get caught on sticky strands) so their webs are less traps than domiciles...
