Gallery Link Question (New SM)

From the organizer, within a folder and at the gallery level, I want to share a link of a specific gallery (which is private / password protected), but when I select the share icon the only option that appears is the share to Facebook option - not the options to the grab various types of links.

Thoughts? Suggestions? are greatly appreciated. :ivar

Hi Wendell,

If you really have set the gallery to be *private* then you can't share it. Private content is only accessible to you as the logged in account owner.

You probably want to use *unlisted*.

Thanks. I have changed from private to unlisted and when I click the share icon (after the changes), Facebook is still the only option presented for sharing.

I can't answer your question about why "get a link" isn't available as a share option after you changed the setting to unlisted, but if you want a gallery link is there some reason why you haven't just pulled the address from the gallery address bar?

Thanks for the time to reply. No reason for not pulling the link from the address bar and at this point my only option. I am inquiring why the only share link that "pops" up is the Facebook share link and not all the other share link options.

Plus, if the gallery is private and password protected, why is Facebook share option even available? or any share option? Seems a private setting for a folder / gallery would disable the share options.

I think that it's confusing that "Publish" in Organizer uses the same icon as "Share" in Gallery/Lightbox, yet they don't have the same function. Who on Earth thought that was a good idea?
