Sorting popular pics by popularity?

I created a (currently unlisted) gallery and made it "Smart" so that it pulls in my "Popular" pics.

Result: It showed 24 pics. I reckon that's about right - as you can tell, I'm not very popular.

As you can see, it's a bit more realistic than the 1000-strong dodgy mega-list returned at http://beardedgit.smugmug.com/popular

I looked at the first 24 in that second link and noticed that their order was different to that of the first 24 in the first link. :scratch

So then I was thinking... they couldn't both be in the right order... only one could... maybe neither were... :dunno

Common-sense told me that setting the "Sort By" option would be the solution.

I went to Customize > Gallery Settings > Appearance > Sort By, with the not-unreasonable expectation of being able to sort the "Smart" gallery by Popularity.

Result: Computer says "No".

Undeterred, I went to the Sort tool in Organizer, with the same expectation.

Result: Computer says "No" again.

Hmm...

Did I miss something? Can we really not sort Popular pics by Popularity? :huh

I asked almost the same question some weeks ago, and I also got 0 replies. I wonder why there is absolutely no interest for this. For me it is the most important missing feature on SmugMug.
