Recent images or galleries link

For recent images drag in a multiple photos block and set the Select from to "recent photos".

For recent galleries drag in a Galleries block (from navigation) and select recent galleries.

You can drag it to a new page or to an existing page.

When I followed the instructions for Recent Galleries, SM pulled in ALL my galleries. Is there a way to set a date so that any galleries created later than that date will be included? Or the reverse, any gallery created before that date will be excluded?

In the meantime, I simply selected the galleries manually.
