Please help identify another shore bird

This small plump bird was wading in shallow water along with several of what I now know are black-necked stilts. Do any of you know what it is? I tried to look it up, and the closest thing I could find is some sort of sandpiper. Any help is greatly appreciated, and Happy New Year to all!

Best, Pam

It's an adult non-breeding Spotted Sandpiper. Nice shot.

Thanks, Chris! I'm lucky when I get a defocused BG around here. Most of my birds like to hover smack against a very detailed distracting BG! Happy New Year! Best, Pam

Allen, thank you so much for always helping me out on the ID's. I'm no kind of birder, and you are obviously an expert! Hope your Christmas was terrific, and Happy New Year! Best, Pam
