Hi AnnaMaria - nice to hear things are better and great to see an image from you!

That's a very nice, iconic, earth and sky, AZ scene in your image...
I used to live in and about the Verde Valley and Sedona, and I miss the scenery and piercing blue skies.
I'm pretty sure the "thingy" is a Radar Site and the streak must be an aircraft with reflected setting-sun - your shutter was too fast to streak a celestial object.

The places you lived are just beautiful!!! Do you ever get back there?

Yes, the streak is in fact an airplane. And yes the ball on the mountain is a radar and radio site for airplanes. I thought the minimal elements would help with the imagination for 'space' and well...just a fun shot. :D Praying the New Year will bring good health to get out and about - Lord willing! iloveyou.gif

    Thanks for the comment.

I like it, it's simple and clean. The silhouette is sharp and the sky gradient is nice. I wish the contrail had a bit more separation from the mountain, but that's just a nit.

    Thanks much,

I was actually taking some photos in the other direction when I saw the contrail from the corner of my eye. If the pilot would have flew higher it would have been perfect! :D

Not often enough lately... more-so in the 80's and 90's.
Ever since the turn of the Millennium, I'm reluctant to visit Sedona out of fear
of being sucked into one of the New Age Power Vortexes - there's four of them in town you know....rolleyes1.gif
