Playing around with different techniques in Photoshop. I know this is a bit over the top but had some fun with it. Would love to hear your thoughts on execution.

I'm no expert, but I think you've done a terrific job. Looks like very real application of make-up. Also nice job on removal of the shoulder strap. clap.gif

I'm stunned more and more about what can be done post-processing the computer.

Thanks. Yeah, it's pretty amazing. You really can't believe anything you see anymore in images. I think it's awesome.

What's funny is I took this pic of my wife several months ago. She saw this new version of it and she mentioned she didn't remember not having a strapless top on for it. So the strap clone fooled her.

This is obviously an extreme retouch but the techniques can be used, much more subtly, on regular portraiture to enhance a photo. I figure if I can make the extreme look believable, then the subtle touch-ups will look even better.

Haha. I actually did this after watching the new Wolverine movie. There is an Asian gal character that inspired this edit.

I did it all in PS. I've been practicing 4 different skin retouching techniques over the past few weeks and I've settled on a very easy, yet effective one. It's done using the red channel layer. Here is a link I found. I do it slightly different but the results are the same.

    http://www.dpmag.com/how-to/tip-of-the-week/simple-skin-retouching-with-the-red-channel-06-11-12.html

I also did her eye lashes with hair brushes, modified her hair and eye color, smokey eye shadow and lips using a hue/saturation layer.

Lastly, I filled in the gaps in her bangs using several layers of cloned pieces of her bangs, which I then used the Free Transform tool to change the angle and selective masking to blend in.

As a play exercise it is great, as a deliverable hmmmmm. We have a name for this kind of post processing and retouching " Plastic Doll". Some like it others don't.
The first one is overdone and starts to look cartoonish , the second one is not bad. But just over the edge.

But what happened with the right eye (viewer), it seems that this is bigger then the other. It can be that the model has asymmetric eyes, and that is not an issue. However if you do go through the efforts of making it all look nice and cosmetic correct, then just apply some eye corrections. Or is it the result of a liquify action?

    Great exercise.

Over the top but then you now know how to do a variety of enhancements at various degrees of intensity. You seem to be preparing for some type of leap, be careful.

Leap? Towards a chasm of awfulness?

Love it, Alex. You're getting really good at this Photoshop stuff. One thing I noticed is that there's a lot of texture between her eyes and eyebrows. I personally try not to sharpen that area and even smooth it a bit.
