Since I have never photographed a spider......do they get bothered when you get so close? Do they react to flash? You place them somewhere or just get down on hands and knees? Any and all help is appreciated! Cheers!

Re getting close to the spider- depends on the spider and the circumstances but I'd trapped this one using a glass and card in the house and was able to to put it on a work surface for more comfortable shooting. I just waited until the spider settled down and had no legs on the glass and then carefully lifted the glass before photographing it. As long as you are fairly careful, they will sit still and do not respond too badly to flash.
