Outside at Navy Pier, in Chicago, I noticed this kindly gentleman more or less by himself. It does appear that one of Louis Comfort Tiffany's stained-glass characters is looking on ...

I like this image. Tons of negative space, a subject doing normal things, complimentary colors and stairs leading the eye in from the left to right to the subject. Great framing and comp, Zig.

Cool capture! Took a good eye to see that shot and put it together on the fly!

Bet that wasn't taken recently, or he'd be putting on a whole lot more than gloves!:D

I musta had my back turned when he got that shot. Good on Ziggy for not announcing "Hey guys, look at this shot here!"

Love all the lines leading right to your man. I'm curious what this would look like in a strong conversion to black and white; maybe it's too busy to take it, but I have to wonder..... thumb.gif

Thanks, David. It was a really quick grab and the person was trying to be invisible (not drawing attention to himself). Yes, it was the leading and bounding lines which drew my attention to the scene and resulting picture.

Thanks, Bryce. It was just one of a series that I took, most of which were just looking at architectural features of the area. This was from early November, 2013, but it was plenty chilly that day.

I explored B&W but the blue tones around the man's head would have to be fairly heavily filtered in order to provide the contrast needed to pop the subject. That, in turn, throws off the scene balance.

It's not bad, but I don't see a distinct advantage either.
