WOW… what a great subject…
I must admit that I have never looked that much at the sky during a whole week before.
I am currently in Australia for work so no snow for me :-) But the sky has not been very cooperative.

Here is what I shot so far. Thanks in advance for your comments!

First impressions. I like #1 and #2. While #3 and #4 offer views of deep blue sky, they don't offer much to me.

#1 Has a story behind it with the plane flying away from a the sun peaking out dark clouds. I like the composition with the plane off center as well as the sun. Light beams streaming toward the plane. This is my favorite.

#2 is the most intriguing. The city is backlit while the sky overhead does not bode well. Composition - city landscape about 1/3rd of the image. The old sepia like colors seem to contradict the modern looking city below.

#3. While the tower is off center the top of the tower is pointing out of the photo.

#4. Doesn't offer much to me especially with the tower running down the right side of the image.

I am still learning to judge images so please keep that in mind.

I also like #1 the best, but I wish the plane wasn't flying out of the picture. Maybe you can try something like this again?

#1 is an interesting picture. I like it. Not sure that it really shows weather, although it is an amazing image with the plane in it. It just seems a tad bit too tight of a crop.
#2 I like this image. I think its the best of the group of images. What I like about it is I can feel the heat and dryness, even though there are a few clouds passing clouds. I guess its the haziness that makes it like a hot dry day. Your proportions are good. I am wondering if a little contrast bump will help or hurt the picture?
#3 Although the clouds are pretty and you did good with the contrast pop on this (almost looks like you ran it through a HDR filter in post processing?). What I do not like is the crane. I spoils the picture in my opinion.
#4 interesting cloud formations with jet line too, but again, the crane doesn't help the image and this image really doesn't hold interest for the challenge theme.

I like the first two shots for this theme. The first is a dramatic image of "partly cloudy" and the tight crop adds some mystery - is it about to rain or sunshine after a storm? The second one shows the weather as well as the skyline of the city. Number 1 is my favorite but #2 also has good potential for this challenge, I think.

I love the sky in #3, but don't like the crane. I'd rather see a tree - maybe get out into the Botanical Garden or someplace like that.

#2 I recognize the skyline, and it is a beautiful photo, but I'm sure it is hot there this time of year (which is weather too) and it doesn't say hot to me. Maybe it would look hotter with a little more orange or red.

#1 looks like a big explosion that is blowing the plane out of the photo. I know it isn't, and I do like the picture, but I wish the plane was on the left.

    Thanks all for your comments!
It is funny, I personally really like the crane. I am quite surprised ne_nau.gif

I will try shooting again this weekend.

    Thanks again.

#1 is a fantastic capture, I agree with Jag on a looser crop. #2 is also a great photo and IMHO the best for the Challenge, reminds me of hot hazy mornings in California.

I agree with JAG, I like #2, and that is because it fits the "feel the weather" bill which is part and parcel of the challenge. I feel either hot/dusty, or hot/humid when I look at the shot. If it were my shot, I'd check the horizon against the plumb of the buildings... and correct for verticals. Season the rest of post–production to taste. ;-)

I like the first one best. No question. The slightly unusual subject placement of the jet provides a context and scale. Love the color, too.

I took the "feel the weather" bit of the contest seriously. Until I've shot something new that conveys this feeling over, I won't post. While I love the plane shot—including the angle coming out of the picture—the overall statement seems different than that of "feeling the weather," unless you stretch the imagination a bit and consider becoming flash frozen at around 17,000'. 11doh.gif
