High Key?

I did not take these photos. I think this is what they call high key; and am wondering if someone can explain or show me a site that explains how to do this.

I take a photo like this and it just looks over-exposed and gross. Thanks for any help you can give!

    The catchlights in these suggest some kind of a reflector or, alternatively, it was just using the snow on the ground to reflect back up onto her face.

    Exposing white-on-white just requires care - shoot raw for maximum latitude in post, and make sure you don't blow out the highlights when taking the shot :) For a portrait, ALWAYS expose for the face; that's the first priority regardless of what else surrounds it thumb.gif

    In the first image you can indeed see the reflection of light coming from below.

    FWIW...

    It is kind of proper etiquette to post or list a credit when posting others work.
