Color box behind nav bar

Hi

I have on my Home page a full slideshow . On the tope I have my Nav bar and I would like to put a light grey box behind to have a better view of the nav bar to avoid to loose text or menue depending of the photo on my slideshow

    You should be able to go into your theme under customize and on the advanced tab set a color for the header section that will apply to the background.

    Is it a way to reduce the width of the rectangle in the header ????
