Seriously, though, not gross at all. Fascinating, and beautifully captured. He certainly doesn't look like a cold-blooded killer does he?

I was trying to capture its beauty....but it had different ideas!:D
Thanks Chris! Learned a new behavior.....it froze literally for 2 minutes before grabbing/attacking his breakfast.....clue for future!
Thanks Daniel! Your teachings at work!
Thanks. Lens was "Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM Telephoto Zoom". It is older lens but highly regarded and reasonably priced and in used market you can score one for $1,300.00 or so. Goodluck!

Thanks!
I never thought of that problem as don't have pond in my backyard....but how do those fishies survive?
Thanks Len. Personal preference is to lean towards strong contrast, but I think I have been carried away a bit....and have to put a check on it! Thanks for gentle reminder!
As for focus, it is going to be an issue I think for all zoom lenses, even more expenses ones due to its very nature. It ends up picking something besides a subject and you have to fight to get it back on track. For these shots, it was very difficult to get it in focus as you can see it has very thin neck and even slightest shake at maximum zoom it ends up focusing on hills behind it. I rested my arm in car window and at the moment this occurred just happened to hit the face.
Cheers!
