Oh... I was just wondering about the full moon and if anyone would post. Great framing IMHO. All the natural brush! clap.gif

Great job as usual Don! Bit different also....I am sure there were big and tall cacti available but you chose to highlight these bushes. Did you try b&w or IR? Cheers!

Eia, Stumblebum, thanks! I did a black and white conversion and it's okay, but I prefer the color. I didn't try IR--it doesn't do much for dawn skies.

It's a very nice image, the forced perspective inverting the size of everything is really intriguing. it's just missing a little something to make it a great image (IMHO), maybe if the moon had been closer to the cactus and ocotillo, or bigger- right now it just seems a little unbalanced to me.
Yeah, if you recognize the avatar, new user name.

JC, why do I have the sense that I know you under another name? :)

I agree, it's a good image but not a great one. My own assessment is that the craft side of things is too evident. The moment the viewer realizes that the saguaro is carefully aligned with the ocotillo, the viewer will start thinking about the photographer's effort in getting that alignment. (And it was a lot of effort.) At that point, the attention is on the photographer rather than the subject. That's not good, by my lights. I want my photos to be transparent media that make the viewer experience the subject, not me. I want shared appreciation, not admiration. That said, it's better than most of the photos I take, and I'll keep it!

Pretty neat composition as was pointed out, Don. Great job on the moon exposure!

Thanks, Joel. The moon was a matter of waiting until the moon and the daylight were in balance.
