SmugMug Page Thumbnail Customization

So I'm wanting to use SmugMug for my blog hosting as explained here: http://school.smugmug.com/SmugMug-Tips/How-to-Make-a-Photo-Blog

The only problem with this is that the folder page containing the blog posts ends up looking like this:
http://www.michaelbonocore.com/Blog
where each blog post has only the title with no excerpt or instruction to click.

I'd like the folder page gallery with posts to look more like this:
http://blog.vivantvie.com/
with each blog thumbnail containing a title, tags, a date, an excerpt, etc.

Honestly, I'd even settle for my current setup: http://www.essentiallychicphotography.com/Blog
which uses a covering info style and a very long title, I just wish I had the ability to add breaks in the title. Or a caption in addition to the title. Is there any way to accomplish this?

Thanks so much!

I think you would need to build the content blocks to include all of the items you mentioned as the lead-in to your blog.

You haven't included a link to your site so I can't see what type of blog you have now. In my opinion the method described in that article would be a reasonable approach only if you don't post to a blog very often. I can't imagine jumping through the hoops to get a page looking reasonable for a blog written / posted to on a regular basis. An alternative would be to use a blogging platform (instead of a photo gallery platform) to host your blog.

There is a customization available that might match your needs. W.W. Webster uses it here - http://rosscollins.smugmug.com/Daily-blog/n-6j4Fh. If this interests you, the code is in the thread Blog layout. The code you need is in several posts in that thread.

Yes, Michael's blog pages do look very nice.
But you should make sure you match your needs with the features of the platform.

This is exactly what I was looking for. With a couple of tweaks, it should be perfect. Thank you so much!
