Saguaro & Light

The sun shines just to the left between the saddle of two mountains. The mountain behind the saguaro is steep and shaded so it casts a blue color showing off the saguaro.

Beautiful idea and brilliant composition! Light and exposure are also very nice! thumb.gifthumb

Only thing I would test is (since I don't know if it would help or hurt) to see if shadows can be further darkened and color can be warmed up more. It might jazz it up or ruin it.....Cheers!

    Eia, this is striking!

There are two things I'd consider. The blue in the background seems a bit strong to me. I'd try reducing the saturation there or warming it up, as Stumblebum suggested. Also, the bright areas in the lower left are a little distracting, as bright areas on the border often are. I'd consider using the gradient tool in Lightroom to lower the highlights there. But it's terrific as is.

Beautiful, AnnaMaria. The strong contrast gives a nice 3D look to it.

Thanks much Everyone. I do have one that is really saturated -- but I thought I would hold it back and keep it a little more 'real'. :D I see where it might be a bit brighter near the bottom. Thanks so much for the suggestions.
