Nikon D70/D70s battery question

My daughter is turning 7 next month, and has a great time going shooting with me. I want to encourage this, but I don't want to constantly worry about her banging up one of our cameras. So I'm looking at getting her a D70 or D70s since they can be had quite inexpensively these days. Then I can give her my rarely-used nifty fifty and just let her go to town without worrying about the gear.

My question is about the battery. We have a D90 and D300, both of which use the EN-EL3e battery. The D70 came with the EN-EL3, and the D70s used EN-EL3a. I have seen on the webz sites that indicate the EN-EL3e will work on the D70/s, but I was curious if anyone could verify that for me. Either way it's not a deal-breaker, but it would be handy if all three bodies could use the same batteries, and I wouldn't have to hurt my brain keeping track of which batteries for which bodies.

Thanks!
