thumbnail style gallery

Hey everyone. A while ago it seems people found out that the thumbnail style gallery forces square thumbnails. I, like others, would like to maintain the original aspect ratio of the images. Has a fix for this been worked out yet? I know the collage style is close, but I want to maintain the grid format.

As far as I know the square thumbs in that style are by design as opposed to a bug.

Hopefully someone from SmugMug will confirm that.

What about Collage Landscape? It's not exactly the original aspect ratio, but it offers variability.

Try adding this to your theme's CSS, it'll show the images in their original aspect ratios (not your thumbnail crop, which can't be achieved with CSS):

.sm-user-ui .sm-gallery-images .sm-tiles-grid img {
	max-width:100%;
	max-height:100%;
}

You may also want to add this CSS to remove the background colour behind the photo thumbs:

.sm-user-ui .sm-gallery-images .sm-tiles-grid .sm-tile-content {
	background-color:transparent;
}
