What lenses do you have? Are you looking to buy a new lens?

Shoot with a large aperture and fast shutter speed to stop action and separate the subject from the background, and fill flash to reduce shadows, if you're close enough.

Get a 70-200/2.8 lens. For shots that are head-on go large aperture. For shots that are mostly profile slow the shutter down and pan with the bike to show some motion. The flash is a good suggestion too. This is going to take a lot of practice, shooting motocross well isn't particularly easy.

I use the 70-200/f2.8 quite a bit, but the cheaper, lighter 70-200 f/4 would be a good choice too.

Slowing the shutter speed to show action is a good idea....giving the sense of speed, but keeping your subject sharp/stopped.

Practice, practice, practice....in fact shooting during practice will get you ready for the racing.
