uncropped thumbnail style gallery

I'm a little surprised this hasn't been requested (I searched but didn't find anything): a thumbnail style gallery that doesn't crop the thumbnails to squares. I don't like the collage style as a fallback, because I want them arranged neatly as a grid and similarly sized, especially when presenting something like a portfolio.

You can modify the thumbnail gallery to do that by adding CSS, I posted some here for you:
