You hit the nail on the head......as much as I loved the shot, something was bugging me........"miniature feel'. Not sure why that is...but it is there.

Maybe because the sand has partly covered the camp and that this is much smaller than houses.

You are right! that's it. It distorts their size, creating the effect.
