    I ask because my wife is an avid daylily gardener and I take lots of daylily photos every year. I have gotten better over the years capturing them, but I have not used the methods you have like with the above flower.

    There are over 60,000 registered daylilies in the US, which means there lots of photos on web but most are not high quality.

    Brian did you use anything to back light #1 and #3? Are the remaining lit up because of the flash? Would love some more info on how you managed the lighting. Thanks

    #1 LED bar light from below

    #2 mainly natural light from window on left but some room light from above

    #3 LED light

    #4&5 full flash

    The non flash shots were fairly long exposures - 0.3 to 3 secs I think in TV mode
