Default sorting

I'm new to SmugMug and I'm looking for a little help. When uploading photos to a gallery they seem to get sorted in a random order by default. I would like them to automatically be sorted by file name so I don't have to go back and reset the sort order and manually pick the first one as the featured photo. Is there a way to do this?

Go into Gallery Settings, click the Appearance tab, and select the Sort By.

Thanks. I tried that but it doesn't stick. Every time I create a new gallery in the same folder and upload photos I have to reset it to "Sort by filename" because it defaults to "Sort by position". Is there any way I can make this setting stick as a default?

The SmugMug default gallery settings cannot be changed. When you change the gallery settings on a gallery, the changes are for this one gallery and won't effect any other galleries.
