Animated avatar problem

Made a small (< 8kb) 75*75 pixel animated gif in Adobe Image ready.
If I try to upload this as an Avatar image , I get an "
You may not upload animated images." error,
If I try to host the image on smugmug and link it (this is the URL -
http://lordv.smugmug.com/photos/48998207-L.gif) .I get an "
Invalid URL" Error.

Any ideas where I'm going wrong?

I don't know what was wrong.

I first tried to use URL for your avatar, but it gave me the not valid message. Then I tried to upload it to dgrin and it works fine. It could be the new vbulletin software has a bug of its own with the URLs?

I saved your old avatar in case you wanted it back.

You may be right- I get the same errors on the POTN site
