***LENS HAS BEEN SOLD***
Hi,
I'm selling my Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS lens. It's a great lens but I don't use this enough and want something in the 300 or 400 range. If you take a lot of indoor pictures then this lens is simply awesome. You can hand hold the lens down to 1/8 second with no shaking (your results may vary).
I bought this lens around May of this year from KEH and purchased the 3 year Mack warranty as well. The warranty is transferable for a $15 administrative fee from Mack, I never sent in any item to Mack so not sure if it's worth it. Lens comes with the bag, hood, lens cap (front and rear), tripod ring, instruction manual, box (UPC code has been cut out from the box).
Overall the condition of the lens is very excellent, I only used this on a few trips, but mostly stayed in my bag. Also the lens was always taped up, no scratches on the body, but there is a slight scratch mark on the lens hood (very minor). The tripod ring is in excellent condition as well, no wear on the lens mounting surface.
The only problem I see with this lens is the rare "error 99" problem. In case you are not familiar with this error, on the 70-200mm IS lens, on rare occasions the lens will lock up the camera with a "error 99" event on the camera. The only method to resolve this is to remove the lens and reattach it. Now I have only had this error appear when using the 1.4x tc combined with the 70-200 but still worth mentioning. The most popular reason seems to be a loose connection between the body and lens. I tend to agree with this since the problem happens when I used the 1.4x tc, this gives the lens a bit more chance to loosen up.
$1,500 with $15 for shipping/insurance in lower 48.
I perfer Pay Pal or money order, please add 2% if you are using a credit card with Pay Pal. I have bought and sold here on Dgrin and Fred Miranda, as with eBay.
My eBay id is "robert_freiberger".
Pictures of the lens.
I tried taking a picture of the front element but didn't come out as expected. No scratches, used a UV filter since day one.
Finally, some pictures taken with the lens on my 10D.
Lens also is great with the 1.4x tcII (this was hand held at 1/50 f/4)
Thanks,
Rob

You might want to check with the FM forum. I've seen a non-IS version for sale, and I *think* he was asking for a 400mm. Could be wrong.
