photo numbers visible

Please make it possible to switch on the possibility to see photo numbers.
At the moment I use Scherlockphotography.com's possibility to do that by adding a PayPal button (instead of the button the photo number is shown), but when I add new photos or republish some photos after working on it I have to go through the whole process again.
I think it would be greatly appreciated by a lot of Smugmug users.
