I see this (unveiled) in a gallery. Scrolling down I first see "no comments" so stop scrolling.
Do visitors see this, I can't check?
I assume the photo comments show first then the gallery comments next. If so I can't imagine
that the galley comments would be seen if there are photo comments. Why aren't the comments
combined in one list?
If fact there's not a clue anywhere on the page that there are any comments below. And browsing
photo to photo you'd never see them. (Smugmug style) Very poor design.
I think a great addition would be a line "See comments at bottom" below the photo nav under the
thumbs triggered if any exist. Or perhaps an overlay box popup and a comment button
somewhere visible. This is how it's done in lightbox.

No. That will not appear for your logged out viewers. That is telling you that YOU haven't made any comments there, yet.
You can add instructions or information to your gallery description field, or in a text content block, if you'd like to let folks know where to go to add comments.
