    Nice sunset
Jeff, I gotta say, that sunset is BEAUTIFUL. Now, if you could just get the volleyball net out of the way :)

Seriously though, it depends on what you wanted the subject of the photo to be. Personally, I love getting sunset shots, but I like them without many distractions. A little bit of foreground is ok, but I prefer mostly sun & sky.

That said, I'm jealous of you being over on the Gulf coast. I'm on the FL east coast, so no good sunsets at the beach :(

Yeah....I see that I am running over the volleyball players to get to the beach....and I bust out the zoom to get closer......and hope I find something that ties the sky and water together in the sea....ship...gulls....whatever.

Personally, I like the net. With that being said, my eye wants the net to be super close...almost macro close. It would be super cool to see the sunset shot THROUGH the net...if that makes sense?

I hear you....I take so many sunset shots though. My wife said I was getting a bit crazy with it haha but the sunsets are so amazing over here. Same night, different picture below without the net!

As fellow student on same path....my suggestion would be "standard zoom" 24-70 or 24-105 is great range to have and post-processing software....costs less than 150, something like Lightroom....so easy to use that even someone like me who struggles with softwares can manage. Cheers!

Agreed....no need for the macro lens so much, just saying I'd love to see the net slightly out of focus, and maybe see only a few strands of the net itself...as if you're a kid, peeking through a screen door.

Execution was definitely done well, friend. You captured a beautiful sunset, while retaining a piece of realism (the volleyball net). Too many sunset shots portray some imaginary fairy tale land, sterile of human life. I love those shots as much as the next person, but they can feel a bit...lonely.

Amazing shot! I love this beautiful sunset shot which is taken so nicely and wants to capture similar sunset shots from different angles.

    thanks so much!
