I was in Puerto Rico a month ago so I figured I'd share a few photos from the trip.

#1 is very nice! Staircase to heaven! I am trying to figure out how you achieved it. Can't see any shadows, is the light source behind you? Flash? Is there any localized vignetting used? Looks like long enough exposure to smooth out water somewhat, then flash probably won't work. Light painting? Thanks!

I set the camera up for a long exposure on a tripod and used my 580 exII off the camera for the lighting. I simply just manually flashed the steps in multiple spots (probably 10 flashes total) throughout the long exposure. It worked out much better than I expected and turned out to be one of my favorite photos of the entire trip.

Oh and this was shot using my 5d MKII + 16-35 II and the 580 ex II.

Awesome job! Thanks for the info! I have the same gear, except went to MKIII. Cheers!

No problem! Don't you just love the 16-35 II!

Ive been debating about upgrading to the MKIII but being that sports/concerts is my main focus my 1d MKIv has been my workhorse.
