If you wanted to know what the deal is with the non-sports images, the application encourages the submission of nonsports as well as sports to show a variety of what I can do.
Thanks so much for your help!!!!
I dont know if it is easier to look via a gallery....but here they are http://winger.smugmug.com/gallery/1055880
I would eliminate 3,6,9,14,15,25,27,28,29
Want reasons:
3- just doesn't strike me as one of the top 20
6- was not one of my favorites, and I would try to keep more to sports
9- not one of my favorites
14- I don't like how the ball is hovering over the base runner, I understand what I am looking at, but the floating ball bothers me
15- not one of my favorites, the subject is a little too centered I think also
25- cute shot, but they look a tad too relaxed
27- nice shot, but I don't love how I can't see the kickers face
28- I always have this in soccer, but I think the ball is too far away from the players... good shot, but doesn't make my top 20
29- cute shot, but not top 20 in my book, too many other great ones
To summarize, these are all great shots... I like them all, but I tried to through in my .02 f-stops as to which I would eliminate from the top 20.
Good luck!

Oh I definatly appreciate it, like i said I get attached to my photos.....
No10 Background too busy
No13 shot a bit more to the right to get a bit of the players face and all the bowler maybe
No14 Would like to see the base, don't know why he is diving
No16 Maybe cropped a bit tight would liked to see a bit of goal
No24 A bit to the right may have shown a bit more of the shooters face
No27 Got to have players face, i dont know who is kicking the ball
This is the first time i have done this hope i havn't been too hard
Regards
Gary
Ps these only my thoughts i may be talking Bull _ _ _ _
You know, this is the 3rd or 4th time I've looked at the 1st one, and I just now noticed that she had christened the boat with champagne. Must be going blind
I really liked these shots:
7, 10 (while I agree w/ Gary that the bkgd is busy, I don't think it detracts from the shot that much), 12, 16, 17, 20, 21, 23, 24, 28 and 29 (interesting dog in interesting light). I also like 25 (it looks like they must be winning : ) and 26 (but I can't tell if they're celebrating a goal or just won the game)
Comments on the rest:
1 - good facial expressions, but it is not obvious what she is doing. I also didn't realize she was christening a boat until it was pointed out, it part b/c the boat doesn't look much like a boat (I thought it was a barrier at 1st)
2- doesn't really do much for me, it's just there
3 - I like this shot, particularly the way the cloud looks continuous between the sky and the reflection in the bldg. Use it if you can.
4 - not enough of what ever that gadget is to grab my interest
5 - this is a nice shot and shows you can work in these conditions, it just isn't the greatest sunset
6 - interesting night shot, I like the interplay between the lights and shadows
8 - a unique shot (but fix that black pixel)
9 - simple, but it makes you smile :
11 - interesting night shot, but it looks crooked
13 - this is interesting and really shows the ball coming at the batter from the pitchers point of view, but, for me, there doesn't seem to be enough implied action by the pitcher
14 - I too would like to see the base he's diving for
15 - interesting night shot - I like the relflections in the puddles
18 - it's kind of hard to tell what is going on, too busy; I can't tell if there are 2 or 3 players
19 - interesting - it captured my interest b/c it looks like too tender of a moment for an end of a game; makes you wonder about the background between the two
22 - good stop action, but for some reason it just doesn't grab me
27 - I know you're trying to focus on the UMASS player, but given that he is really not part of the play and is just reacting to the kick, the shot really should have the kicker as its main focus
Good luck with your decisions! In there own way, each is good.

Then again if i dont get in I already have my ticket for the Frozen 4 in milwakee which is the same weekend. (But just the opportunity to get hands on info about strobes would make the ss academy soooo worth it.)
