I was out with friends for a 6 day camp last week. Most of the time it was overcast but the last night it opened up for a little night play around camp.

    Thanks Jeff.

I upgraded this year from my 7D to a 5DMKIII with new glass. Hopefully with some more practice with the new gear I will step up my game a bit this year. :D

Grand Slam Brad! Hole in One! Nothing but Net! And the Lord said rise uppah.....!clap.gifthumbwings.gifivarbowdown.gif

I think this is first time I have seen moon-star! Can't say I am in love with it, but it is new!

I love #4 because your campfire is glowing like the Galaxy above!

One of these days I would figure out why my Mark-III + L lenses can't do this! Cheers!

Thanks. With my new glass I can get starbursts on about any sharp light source. I may be a bit infatuated with ability now.rolleyes1.gif

I purposely stopped down to F13 to get the start effect off the moon for that shot.

Here is a similar shot at F2.8. These were shot with the 16-35 L f2.8 wide angle.

Thanks for info and awesome! Last one in my view >> the first one! However, that may be personal choice thing and not important! The last one is lit up better as well! Cheers!

Thanks. I agree that the second image is much better with the overall light balance of the scene.

But if your addicted to starbursts, you sometimes throw all that good stuff away.:D

Very cool! Reminds me of a number of deer-hunting trips, back when I hunted.

    Thanks Eia.

My wife agrees. She decided she likes camping again now that we have this cozy nest. :D

OK... #3 is just an awesome shot. The technicals are spot on. The composition is really good as well. But for me, what does it is the subject matter. Really places me there in that moment, sitting next to the fire, listening to that one guy, that is present in every group of friends, that just never seems to stop talking. HAHA. Unfortunately, I think I am often that guy so I don't know if I would actually be listening if I were really there with you all. Laughing.gif
