Watermarks on collage landscape thumbnails

Is there a way to avoid displaying watermarks on thumbnails when using 'collage landscape' view for galleries. I only want to see the watermarks when viewing the larger photos in light box.

Unfortunately there isn't because the images that are displayed are not the old thumbnails. I thought there was a request to change this but I can't find it right now.
