Picasa Plugin - Smugmug - Problem

I used to have a happy co-existence with a smugmug plugin and picasa but now all we get is the popup window, background image and login. Dragging and dropping image is a challenges you all know. Any ideas?

Version OS win 8.1
Picasa 3.9.137 (build 81)
SmugMug Picasa plugin installer picasa://importbutton/?url=http://www.smugmug.com/photos/picasa/picasa2smugmug.pbz

-nothing is navigable other than home links or help, search but nothing that will help.

I've tried to login to smugmug first than launch picasa and the plugin. I've changed browser defaults. Made sure Java version is current.

The Picasa uploader is no longer supported. Instead, use the export to folder option in Picasa instead and then open our uploader in your browser and add the photos from the exported folder.
Of course, after the upload is done, you may delete the exported photos.
