Random Featured Image

Is there any way to have the featured image for a gallery/folder be random? I liked that about the legacy setup and haven't found a way to do that with the new version. It was a good way to show different images in a gallery that is constantly getting updated without physically changing it often.

It's not possible right now. There is a feature request for this at Random Thumbnails. You might want to add a comment to that thread.
