Nice Dan. Saw this on G+. I think I prefer the other, similar shot, you posted there over this one though.

This one, Alex? I am going to print a 40 x 60 of one of these and I haven't yet been able to decide. I appreciate your feedback. :D

I like the one in post #1 better. Little more blue in the sky, from a few minutes later in the sunset, and the juxtaposition of the buildings and the distant cityscape on the wild desert adds more interest. And I know this is a terribly subjective thing, but I like that the horizon is more or less flat, as opposed to the shot in post #3 which is taken on a hill and has a slant.
What I said when I saw the Grand Canyon for the first time: "The wide ain't wide enough and the zoom don't zoom enough!"

Yes, it is a subjective call. For several reasons, though, I find the second version much more appealing to my eye. Nice work.

    Dan,

I think the 2nd one is a stronger image. The I prefer the colors of the second; i think there is more contrast. I also think the composition is much stronger in the second. The placement of cactus on left, in the foreground, immediately grabs my attention. Then, the leading lines that the clouds, horizon and other cacti make really draw me into the image. Very nice.

My vote is strong for printing the second. clap.gif

I vote for #2 also. But I like the idea for #1 with the cityscape in the background. Looks like if you could get a few feet higher you might be able to get more of the city in -- maybe bring a stepstool or something.
