Someday I would have time and money to go to Cliffs of Moher. Davenport, CA is not a bad backup plan! All helpful pointers and critque cherished. Below are my attempts:

    LOVE #3. iloveyou.gif

#10 is a close second. Maybe you know that dude in the water but I'd clone him out. Now, if he was a hot girl, naked, that would be a different story. mwink.gif

    Thanks AC!

Don't know the dude and would have no problem cloning him out even if he was my best friend. While I was taking the shot I could not have put out more negative energy towards the guy mentally. Then I figured that he is small enough, far enough, surrounded by uniform environment, so cloning him out would not be a problem and I took the shot.

I expected him to be a blur as it was 2 second shot. He somehow managed to remain still, despite the wave engulfing both him and me and my tripod. After second look, I think I got carried away by my imagination, and felt he was in-fact adding to the scene, since he is knee deep, staring at the horizon, like having a spiritual moment or contemplating suicide. Either way, something deep I felt. Thought picture may evoke similar thoughts in others. Guess not! :D

Some real beauties in here Taz... clap.gif
My faves are #3, #9, #10 - I think the dude adds a lot and does capture the mood you suggest - let him live!

Like Alex, I love #3 also - the water motion captured is right up-my-alley...
My small suggestions would be to crop in a bit more to increase the size of the rock
and so feature it more, and lift the shadows on the rock to reveal the texture in the darkest area a bit more.

Thank man! Agree completely on cropping. After being done, I view it from CC point of view, and #3, #4 and #5 can all close in on the main subject.

Come up the coast some weekend....I give you the tour! Maybe I get to pick up some pointers on technique....mean it! Cheers!

Excellent set, Taz. I can't believe I haven't been to this location yet. 1, 3, 5 and 11 jump out at me the most for some reason, but they're all really good. Great shooting there, pardner. deal.gif

5 and 12 are my fav's. Also, leave the dude in the water. He's as much a part of this planet as anyone or anything else. I like the capture.

    Great work
I really liked 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, 11 and 12. clap.gif I grew up in Santa Cruz so I'm familiar with the cliffs along the coast. You've done a great job with them. Makes me homesick. :D

Boy, Taz, this is a darn strong body of work here. Got a good mix of B&W and color. That #5 shot is lights-out. I also like your including the guy in the surf in #10....it creates a kind of mysterious mood to the image. Overall, very well done.thumb.gifthumb

    Take care,

    Tom
I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Thanks much Tom! I like the bird taking off after wave crashed on the rock too...adds something!

    Great shot Stumblebum,

#3 is clearly your work. It looks like fog. ;-)

I also like the guy in the water, the branch in the water almost looks like his surf board. Cool shot.

I really need to take the time (and money) for a California trip. If you like Cliffs, you should try Sagres in Portugal.

    Cheers,
