Here are a few more of the keepers I got yesterday. These were all shot on my Nikon D700 with Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8 lens. I used the 10-stop filter on all of these. I also used my new tripod snow shoes for shot on the beach. :clap
1. 30 sec @ f/11 ISO 100
2. 30 sec @ f/11 ISO 100
3. Exposure blend of 30 sec & 51 sec @ f/11 ISO 100
This is inside a small cave.
4. 45 sec @ f/11 ISO 100
Not sure if you can see it but I got some sort of vertical lens flare down the center of this shot. My lens hood broke and I did my best with my ball cap to block out flare but still got some on this shot.
5. 45 sec @ f/11 ISO 100
Don't know who my special guest star was but think she adds interest so left her in the shot.

#5 is close behind! Love the light! The symmetry too!
If there was chance to climb the rock in bottom left foreground in #5, then I wonder if another shot can be head with no rock in foreground and blur all around the rock in front with heavenly sky! JMO!
Thanks.
Yes... in #4 and #5, the rock on the bottom left is a huge ledge. It's only a few below the ledge I was standing. It's part of a large outcropping of rocks that jets out onto the surf just as far, if not further that the rock the woman is standing on. I didn't venture that far down as I liked the composition and wanted to make sure I was ready for sunset. I will shoot that area and several others next time I go out. I "saw" quite a number of potential compositions in this area. And there is still the other sides of this beach to explore.
Actually, the two large outcropping of crops form a horseshoe. Where you see the water in the center, it washes up against the cave-like opening. The bottom is made of black, smooth ledge-like rock bottom. During lower a tide, I should be able to climb down there are get some good shots. The surf was just too big to risk going down there yesterday. Some of the sets were a few feet overhead and I'd be in a few feet water if I didn't time it right. Next time though.
One thing I noticed about shooting these long exposures is that I just don't have time to take as many photographs. I actually like it because this forces me to think about my composition more so I actually end up with more keepers from dramatically fewer exposures.
All in all, very happy with these. Again, this is not really my thing. I'm a portrait photographer so although these may not be up to snuff for some of you, I quite excited about them and learning more about this genre of shooting.

Yes, yes, yes.....checklist gets longer. Yesterday Blew the dwindling light for these 2 Dohs....
1) Had mirror lock up engaged but hit the shutter release only once, counted out 2-3 minutes and then realize only locked the mirror.
2) After sunset for some reason it got significantly warmer, even though it had been a dark and cold day with periodic drizzle. Blew a 5 minute exposure, for which I stayed late after sunset to get a completely blue shot BECAUSE the filter fogged up.
I am learning too........
Learned today someone achieved 14 stop ND by stacking.:D
HAHA... your #2... not alone brother. Yesterday I setup what would have been, probably the best shot of the day. It was a 5 minute exposure:
Trigger the shutter release. Wait 5 minutes. Wait another 5 minutes for the built-in NR to complete. Click the preview button to see the glorious photo I just captured.....
NOTING BUT A WHITE LCD.
My reaction: W.T.F.!!!!!!
Look at the front of the lens: NO ND FILTER.
Packed up and left at that point.
