What's the better present?

I took a few shots of my niece, and I'd like to give my sister one as a present. I bought 8x10s of them from smugmug, but I'm not sure what one to choose. Anybody with opinions or other critique/commentary, I'd love to hear them.

The first with a little curves work to boost the contrast in her face.

#1, definately. Lots of magic in that shot.

I agree on the curves boost. 15524779-Ti.gif And I'd use the gradient tool to "shadow out" the background a bit.

I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

I say the second shot. That clean background, less noise, super sparkly eyes, and I actually really like the adult hand with hers. I'd be happy to get that one. nod.gif
