Image size on iPhone

If I've missed this searching the forum, apologies.
When viewing a photo on my iPhone, there is a way to make it larger for viewers. I see no effect from a tap, double tap or pinch. There are no buttons to allow the viewer to choose a size either. I've had multiple complaints regarding this. I also find it frustrating that I can't visit my own website via my iPhone to show images to people I meet because they want me to zoom in and I cant. Is there a way around this issue? I understand the sites are designed to be responsive, but this is very frustrating and not at all beneficial. Oh and I am aware of apps and other methods for a mobile portfolio. I want my website to be able to display my photos in the largest size chosen via gallery settings.
